Partial denture (Hard/Flexible from Plastic and Metal)
A partial denture or bridge consists of replacement teeth attached to a gum-coloured base, connected by a framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. A permanent denture replaces one or more teeth by placing crowns on the teeth on either side of the space and attaching artificial teeth and then fixing in position. Partial dentures not only fill the empty spaces between teeth but also prevents other teeth from shifting. When one or more natural teeth remain, partial dentures a great, natural-looking option. Wires used to be visible with old partials as seen below, but today partials are completely natural-looking and there are no wires visible!
Flexible partials were first developed fifty years ago, and have been used in professional dentistry since 1954. The product is part of the nylon family and is stronger and more flexible than the acrylic used in other kinds of dentures and partials. Additionally, dental professionals in some countries have recommended Totally Natural partials as a viable alternative for patients who have allergic reactions to acrylic.
